Where Are They Now?: Rose Habeger

Across the States & the World!

It’s not a secret that when students are in Pack Your Bags we take them all over the United States and overseas encouraging them to know Jesus and themselves better— but what you might not know is that a large amount of our alumni continue to spread the Gospel on their own time. Follow along this summer as we highlight past students and staff that are embarking on the Great Commission.

Today we highlight recent TBC graduate and Pack Your Bags alumni— Rose!

“My name is Rose Habeger and nearly four years ago I took part in PYB and it taught me much more than I ever would’ve believed for myself. I was called to full time missions during my PYB year and felt a strong pull to work with the homeless population in the United States.”

“While completing my Intercultural Studies degree at Trinity, we were commissioned to complete an internship. Through a lot of prayer and consideration I reached out to Triune Mercy Center in Greenville, South Carolina. Triune Mercy Center is a non-denominational mission church working to share Christ’s love by meeting physical needs and providing life-changing opportunities for the disadvantaged. Triune runs both as a church and as a mission; as a church, they offer fellowship and worship opportunities that create community. As a mission, Triune provides emergency relief in the form of meals and access to resources such as medical and legal aid, addiction and mental health counseling, and an array of social services. Triune welcomed me as an intern in the summer of 2021 and I cannot quantify how much I learned— it taught me about Jesus and His whimsical, radical, and endless love for all people.”

“After I completed my internship, I returned for my final year at Trinity to complete my degree. Toward the end of the year, crunch time set in and a job search began for many graduating seniors. At the end of my internship, I prayed that God would reunite me with Triune Mercy Center in some way and in God’s faithfulness He did. They graciously offered me a summer position that will extend until August. I am working closely with the people Triune serves on a daily basis and am assisting as an Office Manager. These roles take a certain amount of leadership and discernment but they also require a flexible attitude. I am so thankful to be serving in this role. In another display of God’s faithfulness, at the end of my summer position at Triune, I’ll be returning to Trinity to be part of the PYB program…as STAFF!! My time at Triune Mercy Center has taught me about the true depth of God’s love and the true weight of mercy. These things have only equipped me to take the position as a Pack Your Bags leader in August. I am overjoyed to be accepting this position as a PYB leader in the fall and look forward to seeing God move in students' lives. Something I love that I’ve been continuously reminded to do through Pack Your Bags and my time at Triune Mercy Center is this: treat people like Jesus died for them.”
